We were tasked with developing the online launch strategy for the 5th edition of the Gran Turismo game series. The brief was to create buzz and excitement around the game and provide game enthusiasts with official content in the run-up to the on-sale date.
The strategy was developed through the use of research – both of the target audience and key stakeholders as well as through using industry best-practices and expertise gained from previous projects. The solution includes the design and development of a multi-language site, online advertising, email marketing, a Facebook page and many more supporting activities planned for later in 2008.
The campaign has resulted in an increased online buzz surrounding the forthcoming launch of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, with many game enthusiasts taking content from the official site to use on their blogs. In addition, the Facebook page is actively growing on a daily basis and provides Sony with an effective method of communicating with its target audience.
